A Short-lived Change of Direction on the Long Road to Painting Landscapes in Oils

After selling no paintings, for the first time ever, at my “tile pieces” show in San Francisco in 1983 (as described in My Life as an Artist Part Three), I said screw it, I’m done with working with my hand-carved rubber stamps. I’m going to do something completely different. I’m going with the first idea that comes into my head. (more…)
